New year; new page...

Archive: 2002 Madeline Birth Liza's Preggars Page

Whoa. It has been a couple months since I've updated the ol website. There's been a lot going on in the family since I upated this. So, here's the big assed update. Lots of stuff here... I'll let the pictures do the talking.

One thing I finally did, is put together a page of Z's cross-country trip in his new plane. The trip was like 6 months ago, but i've been wanting to put the pictures up. There are some great pics. Go here: ztrip.htm

Dad started with the idea of adding a room... kinda like I started with the idea of building a little shed.

Jamie and Johanna's housewarming party was last week. We had a great time, with lots of folks in town to celebrate. Unfortunately, we didn't take too many digital pics... so we'll just have to fill this space with more pictures of Maddie.

First off, congratulations to three members of the Speare, Mattana, Jamison, Mueller, Zyskowski family. Char had a glowing write up in the Spokesman Review on March 20th--go mom! And Sarah and Katie Mueller had victorious volleyball matches. They're going on to nationals in Atlanta this June--yay girls!

Maddie is loving her new jogging stroller--lots of walks. And she's unphased by "tummy time," the more, the merrier. She's also rolling over. Such a precocious 3 month old!

Andy and Serena were here this weekend. They came to celebrate Serena's 25th birthday, and brought along some of her wonderful family to share in the festivites: Annya, Russel and her cute little niece, Ainsley.

Happy kid (no doubt happy due to the wisdom her parents have gleaned from Parenting magazine). Hungry kid.

John has been off for the last couple weeks on parental leave. There's 3 more weeks to go!! Yay. We're getting lots done.

Check out the wood cook stove.

We're building a shed for Liza. It's coming together bit by bit. Building something like this if you don't know what your doing is pretty easy if you take the same approach as wrapping presents, but instead of using lots of tape; use lots of wood, lots of screws and lots of metal braces. I've discovered the metal braces. With these little life savers all you have to do is approximate your cuts and bind it all together.

The shed is almost finished. Just need to cover up the blemishes with some trim and put some shelves in it.

On Dec 28th, there was a huge windstorm that knocked power out for about 9 hours. We had planned to make a roast for dinner and some enchiladas and tamales for the following day. One would think that with the power out, our plan would be foiled. Not so! We set up a kitchen in the garage with the propane burners, and roasted the beef on the weber. The roast was awesome. The tamales and enchiladas turned out great and we had a great time.
